Detail: Chickenman Globe

My work concerns the marriage of gold, glass and the image. I am interested in layering on a transparent support, the collaboration of paint with glass and gilding and in the behaviour of the reflective surface. Personal imagery is transformed through process and reflection. I aim to let what lies deep emerge, to be open to events.

A dreamlike mix of animal, human and plant forms challenge understanding; things are not always what they seem. 

The form and imagery is of the present, but techniques of decorating blown glass with painting and gilding remain much the same as they were six hundred years ago.
