It is well over twenty years since I met my first broken "Verre Églomisé" panel,
and since that time I have been involved not only in the restoration
of damaged panels from all periods, but in the creation of new work suited
to today's tastes.
Having had the opportunity to study two and three-hundred year old pieces
of glass, I have become familiar with artistic methods that are every bit
as appropriate today as they were in the past. I have made mirrors, tabletops
and panels of all sizes and designs for a variety of clients. In addition
to a project for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, I have worked
on glass paneling for the Sultan of Brunei's west London residence, panels
for the Al-Fayed brothers' Park Lane residence in London, and a complete
dining room lined in glass for a prominent San Francisco family.
Current projects include: a pair of 3/4 inch thick hexagonal table tops,
each to have elaborate Arabic motifs; a powder room for a residence in New
York, with several large and small panels to be built in, each decorated
with classical motifs and carried out in gold with pale blues and cream;
two five foot square Chinoiserie style mirrors for a Royal residence in
Southern California; a large mirror for a Bay Area client. I teach at various
locations in the Bay Area, and am a part-time professor at UC Berkeley Extension.
I am also busy nursing my website along.
